So you just got a new website with your dealerships complete inventory, multipe lead generating tools, information about all of your profit centers and it looks like you are ready for thousands of online customers dying to buy a car from your dealership. A month goes by and your watching those online stats daily, waiting by the phone for the first lead generated by your website. Until one day you realize that your passing the time becoming a master solitaire player. “So where is my traffic” you ask yourself in frustration. Chances are your site is not looking very sexy to the search engines. What your website needs is some automtive SEO love. It is going to take a lot of work and time but the results will be more than worth the effort.

SEO is an abbreviation for “search engine optimization”. Lets face that it is a bit of mouth full, especially when you have to talk about it all day. But it is all the hype on the web these days and the lack of an SEO  strategy is often the reason many website owners see few to no visitors coming to their website. SEO is also referred to as natural search placement, organic seo and any other variation of these phrases.

I prefer organic seo. Much like a farmer growing high quality, chemical free, fruits and veggies, true organic seo is an ongoing process of producing content rich, spam free, search engine friendly webpages. Through this process the end goal is to achieve high ranking across the major search engine SERPs or
Search Engine Results Pages.

SEO is one of many avenues to get traffic to a website and in most cases is the best long-term way to attract target visitors. Other common methods of attracting visitors include pay-per-click campaigns, banner/sponsor advertisements and email marketing.

There are thousands of SEO consultants out there but you need to be careful about where your dollars go. Take your time to research any company you are thinking about working with, check referances and ask questions…. or you could save money and become an automotive SEO yourself. The information is out there.

A consultant who specializes in search engine optimization will keep his client informed about the tactics they use to get a website to the top position in the major search engines. A company’s SEO services shouldn’t be a mystery, don’t be kept in the dark. Although each firm may have their own tricks of the trade any individual can gain a general understandings of organic search engine optimization and should before pursuing this beneficial avenue of search engine marketing. I am an autmotive SEO consultant and in an effort to raise your awareness about search engine optimization services hope to provide you with articles and resources about this industry.
